Gillham, Jacob - born 8/8/1761 in Augusta County, Virginia; entered service abt. 1775 in Camden District, North Carolins; moved in 1802 to Madison County, Illinois where received Pension in 1832; died 12/13/1834. FS32269, R1075.


Notes

Jacob Gillham, b. 8 August 1761, Augusta Co., Virginia. He was drafted from York District soon after the war broke out in South Carolina and participated in the Stono Campaign. He then volunteered and was in two battles which were fount on “Sabbath Day,” the Battle of Rocky Mountain and the Battle of Hanging Rock.
