- In the name of God Amen, being sick in body but of good and perfect mind and memory thanks be to almighty God and calling to remembrance the uncertain estate of this life and that all flesh must die when it shall please God to call. I do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows:
- First being pertinent and sorry for all my sins most humbly desiring forgiveness for the same and command my soul unto almighty God my savior and redeemer in whom and whose merits I trust and believe to be saved and to inherit the kingdom of heaven and my body I commit to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and for the settling of my temporal estate of such goods and chattels as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me.
- I do order, give and dispose the same as if she stays in my family until she is of age.
- To James Young, on the same condition, one horse and saddle.
- Remainder of estate unto my loving wife Catharine Doran.

- At a court held for Greenbrier County 24th day of September 1793. This last will and testament of Jacob Doran, deceased, was presented in court and on the motion of Catharine Doran and Robert Chambers, executor who made oath according to law.

- Vol. 1 - MARCH 16, 1773. - (2) Hemp certificates: Ludwick Shadow, Jacob Doran.
- Page 203.--6th July, 1773. Ladowak Shadow's will--Executor, Jacob Doran, sole heir, "loving friend Jacob Doran." Teste: Wm. Mathews, James Reburn, John Nickle. Proved, 15th March, 1774, by Mathews and Nickle. Jacob Doran qualifies with William Mathews. (Note: Lodwick Shadow was the brother-in-law of Jacob Doran).
- Vol. 1 - SINGLE PAPER. - 16th December, 1780.--John Poage gives this public notice: That the following persons propose making inclusive surveys, viz: Leonard Bell, round the land where he lives in the Cow Pasture; Jacob Doran, round the land he got of Ludwick Shaddow, near William Mathews; John Archer, round the land where he lives on north side Middle River; Samuel Henderson and James Crawford, joining the land formerly Thomas Stevenson's.
- Vol. 1 - MARCH 22, 1780. - (195) Jacob Doran, executor and only heir-at-law of Ludwick Shadow, deceased, produced a certificate under the hand and seal of Col. Henry Boquet's, dated 15 November, 1762, of said Shaw's service as a Sergeant on Boquet's expedition.--Allowed a certificate.

Records in Greenbrier County, VA
- 24 September 1793 - Greenbrier Court Minutes. Ordered that Davie Jarrott, Joseph Swobe, John Dixon and John Scaggs being first sworn do appraise in current money the slaves if any and personal Estate of Jacob Doran Deceased and return the appraisement to the Court. Information on Jacob Doran
Based upon records of Jacob Doran and his brother-in-law, Lodwick Shadow, they both appear to have migrated to an area around Moffett's Creek and Cathey's River, in Augusta County. Neither appears to have owned land, since there are no apparent deeds or land mortgage records in Augusta County, although Jacob likely owned land in Greenbrier County (or its predecessor counties), where he died.
Jacob Doran's Cemetery Marker says: "Jacob Doran VA Militia Revolutionary War 1725 1793"
