- Will of Jacob Bumgardner of the County of Augusta and State of Virginia
- Whereas I have by a convenant made and entered into with my son James Bumgardner dated July 21st 1847 sold to him and his heirs all my property both real and personal..."
- "First I give and bequeath to my son Christian Bumgardner his heirs and assigns the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid out of the above named three thousand dollars, which I give to him his heirs & forever".
- "Second I give and bequeath to the children of my son Jacob Bumgardner dec'd late of the State of Kentucky, the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid to them, as they arrive at the age of 21 years or if daughters as soon as the shall intermarry..."

- 1800, Augusta County, VA Deed Books, v. 31-32 1800-1804, This Indenture Made this Eighteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred between James Flack and Mary Flack his wife of the one part and Jacob Bumgardner of the other part all of Augusta and State of Virginia. Witnesseth that the said James Flack & Mary his wife hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Jacob Bumgardner for and in consideration of the sum of Ninety five Pounds cash rent money of Virginia to them in hand paid at or before ~ the signing & sealing of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged one Certain Tract or parcel of Land lying in Augusta County an State aforesaid in Beverley manner [Manor] and eonveyed by sd. Beverley to Hannahan and from him to Joseph Teas by will to son Charles Teas from him to Robert Allen frm him to his son Thomas from him to James Flack all of which is on Record and now from James Flack to Jacob Bumgardner Which Tract or Parcel Contains by survey twenty three Acres & three quarters more or less and bounded as follows, to wit, [boundaries omitted], the Right and title of sd. Tract of Land Clear from the Claims of all persons what __ unto the sd. Jacob Bumgardner he his heirs or assigns the sd. James Flack & Mary his wife doth bind themselves heirs & forever to warrant and Defend. In witness whereof theay have hereunto set their hands & Seals the Day & year first above written.

- This Deed of Bargain & Sale between James Flack & Mary his wife of the one part and Jacob Bumgardner of the other part was proved by the oaths of Henry Miser, William Patrick and John Silvers, the witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded.

- 1800, Augusta County, VA Deed Books, v. 31-32 1800-1804, This Indenture made this tenth day of one Thousand eight hundred between James Flack & Mary Flack his wife of the County of Augusta & State of Virginia of the one part and Jacob Bumgardner & Claudius Buster of the County & State aforesd. of the other part. Witnesseth that the sd. James Flack & Mary his wife hath Bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the sd. Jacob Bumgardner & Claudius Buster for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred Pounds Current money of Virginia to them in hand paid at or before the signing of these presents the recei[p]t & payment whereof they do hereby confess and acknowledge one house & Lott in the town of Waynesborough No. 39 as appears in the plot of sd. Town laid off by sd. Flack with all appurtenances belonging to sd. Lott the right & title of said Lott Clear from the claims of all persons whetsoever unto the said Jacob Bumgardner & Claudius Buster theay their heirs or assigns the sd. James Flack & Mry his Wife bind themselves their heirs &c. forever to warrent & defend.

- This Indenture of bargain and Sale between William Mitchell and Betsy his wife of this one part, and Jacob Bumgargarner [sic.] of the other part, was acknowledged in Court by the said Mitchell & wife she having been first priveley examined as the law directs and ordered to be recorded.
- 1805: Augusta County, VA Deed books, v. 33-36 1804-1811, This Indenture made this 26th day of May eighteen hundred and five between Claudius Buster, Jacob Bumgarner & Mary Bumgarner of the one part, and Robert Stuart of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Claudius Buster, Jacob Bumgarner & Mary Bumgarner his wife hath bargained and sold and by these present doth grant bargain and sell unto sd. Robert Stewart for and in consideration of the sum of eighty three dollars to them in hand paid at or before the signing and sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a certain lott or parcel of land lying in Augusta County joining the Town or Waynesborough and ___ in the plat of out lotts laid off by Bumgarner & Buster by No. 1 containing two acres more of less Beginning at a Stake in the back ally of the town corner to a five acre lott of Gen Robert Porterfield running then South 15° West 38 poles to a stake in a ditch & thence North 63½ West 9 poles and two feet to a Stake thence North 15 East 35 poles and three feet to a stake in the ally thence 8 poles & 15 feet to the Beginning the right and title of which Lott with all its appurtenances thereto belonging clear from the claims of all person whatsoever unto the said Robert Stuart he his heirs or assigns the sd. Clausius Buster, Jacob Bumgarner & Mary Bumgarner doth bin[d] themselves their heirs &c forever to warrant and defend, In witness whereof they do hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.

- This Indenture of bargain and sale between Claudius Buster, Jacob Bumgarner and Mary his wife of the one part, and Robert Stuart of the other part, was acknowledged in Court by the said Claudius Buster. At a Court held for said County June the 25th 18[05]. This Indenture was proved by the oaths of Thomas Wilson and Samuel Burns witness[es] is thereto as to the acknowledgement of Jacob Bumgarner. At a Court cont'd. & hald for the said County September the 24th 1805. This Indenture having been heretofore acknowledged in Court by the said Buster was this day acknowledged in court by Jacob Bumgarner and ordered to e recorded.

This Indenture made on the fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fourteen between Jacob Bumgardner and Mary, his wife of the county of Augusta and State of Virginia on the one part, and John Russle of the County and State aforesaid on the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jacob Bumgardner and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by, the said John Russle, the receipt thereof is hereby, acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by, these presents do grant, bargain, and sell unto the said John Russle his heirs and assigns, a certain Tract or parcel of land situated in Augusta County, between and adjoining his own lands, and the lands of David Cunningham and said Jacob Bumgardner containing by estimation, fifty acres and is bounded as follows.. [boundaries omitted]. appurtaining to have and to hold the said tract, or parcel of land with all its appurtenances unto the said John Russle his heirs and assigns forever, to the only property use and behoof of him the said John Russle his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Jacob Bumgardner and Mary his wife for themselves their heirs executors administrators do consent with the said John Russle his heirs and assigns that they the said Joacob Bumgardner and Mary his wife their heirs executors administrators, the aforesaid fifty acres of land, with all its appurtenances to the said John Russell his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of them the said Jocob Bumgardner and Mary his wife their heirs and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by, these presents. In witness whereof the said Jacob Bumgardner and his wife, Mary Bumgardner have hereunto set their hands and seals on the day and year first above written.
