From Chalkley’s Augusta County Records:
- Vol. 2 - McClure vs. McClure--O. S. 122; N. S. 42--Bill 19th March, 1808. Orator is Isaac McClure. In 1782, died Hugh McClure intestate, leaving children, viz: Orator, John, David, Agness (who has since married Robert Pilson), Easter (since married Isaac Trotter), Joel (who is simple), and Hugh (who is deranged) McClure. Widow Eleanor McClure made a will distributing personal estate and died, 1799. Robert Pilson and Agness, his wife, are non-residents. Eleanor McClure's will, dated 11th December, 1789, of Augusta County. Isaac, oldest son; John, 3d son; Joel, 2d son; Esther, 2d daughter; David, 4th son; Agness, daughter; Hugh, youngest son.
- ORDER BOOK No. XVIII - MARCH 17, 1784. - (180) James McClure vs. John Frazure.--John McClure, son of Hugh McClure, security for costs.
