M. 25 Apr 1822 to Betsy Utter in NC

!BIRTH: Estimate based on the 1800 census of Surry Co., NC (showing that

Joshua had 3 children under 10 years); the marriage date of Henry's
parents (1794), and the identification of two other children born
     to Henry's parents: Ruth HICKS b. 28 Aug 1797 & Elijah HICKS
     b. 2 Apr 1799. The conclusion that Henry was a son of Joshua HICKS is
based on the study of Clermont Co., Ohio marriage, land, and census
records. For example, in 1827, Joshua & Diana HICKS sold 59 acres
to Henry, and in 1840 sold the remaining 73.5 acres of their land
to Joshua HICKS Jr. Henry sold his land (in 1843) to William HICKS.
(All evidence indicates Henry, Joshua Jr., and William are brothers.)
Joshua HICKS Sr., Henry, and Alexander Johnson (husband of Margaret
HICKS) are listed consecutively in the 1840 census, suggesting they
are neighbors. In the 1820 census, there is only one HICKS family
in Clermont Co. (ie Joshua HICKS). In 1830, there are only 3 HICKS
families: those of Joshua and 2 of his sons: Henry and Elijah.

!MARRIAGE: Cler. Co., Ohio mar rec. (v 2 p 31)

!DEATH: Alive in 1843 when he sold his land.
