• Page 276.--19th May, 1767. Henry Cresswell and Rebecca R. to John Paris, £47, 400 acres in southermost fork of North River Shanando on Stoney Lick Branch; oak near Stony Lick. Teste: Elijah McClenachan and John Buchanan.

• Vol. 1 - APRIL AND JUNE, 1746. - Jean McDowell vs. Henry Cresswell.--Petition filed February, 1745-6. Bond dated 8th November, 1744.

• Page 325.--27th February, 1764. Jane Young's (wife of Saml. Young) confession of scandalous words. She said that Major John Brown's waggon drove by his son or sons did bring from the Meeting House, commonly called Brown's Meeting House, a waggon load of lime belonging to the Congregation. Teste: Robt. Wilson, Henry Cresswell, Thos. Brown, Jas. Brown.

• Page 389.--19th March, 1765. John Tumble's appraisement (by Jno. Finley, Jno. Trimble, Jas. Sayers), recorded--Two negroes, 2 bound servants; cash due by Henry Cresswell, Chas. Clendenning; to Jno. Price's service under the command of Capt. Wm. Christian, 184 days.

• Page 315.--30th September, 1775. Mary Moffett, widow of William Moffett. deceased, late of County of Fincastle, to George Moffett. Mary Moffett. late Mary Gardner, only daughter and heir-at-law of Thomas Gardner, deceased, was seised of tract on Jennings' Branch, and during her coverture conveyed same to George Moffett, and William executed deed to George; now Mary executes deed to George; part of 400 acres patented to Daniel McNare and by him conveyed to Thomas Gardner, 11th February, 1745.
