recently discovered from a marriage record for one of their children that my 5th g-grandfather's wife's name was Margaret "Peggy" HUFFMAN.After 30+ years of research, this is a new name for me and I'm very excited to find out about her, because she is my 5th g-grandmother.But all I know about her is that she must have married David Potter in about 1782, and they lived in Rockbridge Co. VA where she died in 1819.
My only clues to her origins are those of her husband, who was born David Batdorf on 12 Mar 1755 in Heidelberg Twp, Berks Co. PA. After his father died, David's mother remarried to George Gall and they went to Washington Co. MD, where David served during the Rev War.The first record of David "Bottorph" in Rockbridge is in 1778.
