    Elna was a lover of flowers and had flowers blooming the year around.  She also kept busy with needlework and was very active in church work.  They are members of the Baptist Church.

    Mrs. Elna V. Carlson
    Mrs. Elna V. Carlson, 87, 5400 S.W. 7th, formerly of Clifton, died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital. She had lived in a Topeka nursing home for a year and a half.
    She was born Oct. 18, 1893 at Wayland, Mass., the daughter of Nels and Emma Schuable (spelled wrong) Olson.
    Mrs. Carlson was a member of Clyde Baptist Church.
    She married Edwin Carlson in 1914. He died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by a daughter.
    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Gay, Topeka; two sons, Clifford Carlson, Topeka, and Roy Carlson, Brooklyn, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
    Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Turner Funeral Home, Clifton. Burial will be in Rusco Cemetery, north of Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
