Facts and Events
Emma came to Kansas in 1884 and was a resident of Wellington, Kansas when she married Nel Ole Olson. She then settled in Manhattan, KS for a few years, then moving to Wayland, Mass. From Wayland, Mass to Barnes, KS. In 1901 they settled in Topeka, KS which was their final home.
(The christening dresses I have are Emma and Nel's children's.)

Obituary - TOPEKA DAILY CAPITOL, Friday, Sep. 4, 1929 Mrs. Emma E. Olson, -dead She Has Been Resident of Kansas More Than 41 Years. Mrs. Emma Olson, 65, died at her home on Route 3, North Topeka yesterday morning. She came to Kansas 1884 and had been a resident of Shawnee County since 1901. She is survived by her husband, Nels Olson, 4 daughters, Mrs. Edwin Carlson, Clifton, Ks. Mrs. Anna Magnuson, Miss Bertha Olson, Mrs. Ruth Carlson, all of Topeka, a son, Clarence Olson, Montana, a brother August Schaubel. And six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Wall Diffenderfers Mortuary, Wed. at 2 p.m. and burial in Rochester Cemetery.
