Elizabeth (or Betty) Hickinbottom was baptised on 30th September 1748 at Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, daughter of Elizabeth Hickinbottom, formerly Watts, and her husband Amor Hickinbottom.

On 21st April 1772, aged 23, she married a man named Dickerson Linney.

By 1816, she had presumably been widowed and remarried, as her brother John's will describes her as his sister Elizabeth Stanbridge.
