Acquisition of Land from Chalkley's:
- Page 369.--12th October, 1765. John ( ) McCleland to Edward Sharp, £30, 60 acres by patent 3d November, 1750, and conveyed by Patton to Charles Milligan, 17th November, 1752, and conveyed by Milligan to McClelan, on head of Looney's Creek. (Note: John McClelland was the father-in-law of Edward Sharp).
- Page 372.--12th October, 1765. Same to Same (John ( ) McCleland to Edward Sharp}, £45, 84 acres by patent, 23d May, 1763, at the Big Meadows, part of Zachary Lewis' order of Council.

- Page 132.--8th March, 1768. Edward Sharp to Robert Whitely (Whitly), £5, 335 acres patented to Edward, 15th July, 1760, on Cedar Creek in fork of James, Samuel McDowel's line. Sent William Berkeley, 9th February, 1771.

- Page 1. Edward Sharp. Dated May 8, 1770, Probated June 12, 1770. Leaves his property to his wife and two children, and provides that the shares of Anthony and John Sharp shall be invested in land at the mouth of Reedy Creek upon the Holston. At webside http://homeflash.net/~johnson1 it is recorded LeRoy W. Tilton's book on the Robert Looney family. On Part 7, David (2) Looney Branch they are mistakes about my family. Page 14 states that Mary McClellan's sister Jane McClelland married (1) Edward Sharpe had two sons, Edward and Anthony and then married (2) Samuel Gamble and had Annis Gamble who married Nathan Gregg. This is not correct. Edward Sharp's will dated May 8, 1770 clearly states his sons are Anthony and John and daughter Annis. Their mother did remarry but to John Kerr and had three more children. After all children were grown, she married the third time to James Allison. Edward Sharp was killed by Indians on Sharp's Creek now Boozy Creek where he had built a mill. His widow, Jane McClellan Sharp with her new husband, John Kerr moved there and continued with the mill. John died in 1778 and Sullivan Co. history refers to the Widow Kerr's mill. Please correct the mistakes. If they are left as is they almost become fact. Thanks
