Notes

The family name was shown in Virginia recors as McMullen and apparetnly changed to McMillin after they moved to Ohio. Some of his records in Ohio use one spelling and some the other. His children generally used McMillin.

He moved with his wife and several children from Virginia to Ohio about 1794 or perhaps as late as 1977 and settled in the area which is now Gallia County.

"Marriage Records, 1803-1850 Gallia County, Ohio" shows that he performed 11 marriages between 1803 and 1918. According to the "Introduction" in this book that meant that he was either a Justice of the Peace, minister or mayor during that time.
