Acquisition of Land from Chalkley's:
- Records: Db 33, page 442, 10 May 1806 - Peter R. Beverley and Lovely of Augusta County to David Summers, 170 acres plus, including the hill called the Sugar Loaf. Lines and Corners: George Teaford, George Baylor, Parson Spindle, Wiseman, Samuel McClintock.

- David Summers (John, George) Born circa 1782, Augusta County Virginia. Died February, 1857
- Married twice: 1) 10 December 1807, to Rebecca Engleman, daughter of Peter Engleman. She died between 1821-1831 2) 10 October 1831, to Juliann Palmer, born 1806
- Children:
- 1st marriage:
- 1. Sarah, married 18 December 1834 (date of bond); marriage was 22 December 1834, to Jacob Beck, son of Daniel and Elizabeth [Summers] Beck; they were first cousins.
- 2. Elizabeth, married 25 April 1837 to Samuel A. Kerr
Her children were David S. Kerr and Mary Kerr
- 3. Jacob Summers, married 13 August 1845 to Julia Ann Joseph
- 4. George W. Summers, married 7 August 1847 to Eliza Jane Edgar
- 2nd marriage:
- 5. John D. Summers, born 1832 (according to census of 1850)
married 29 August 1853 to Mary Ann Clayton, daughter of John Clayton, Jr. and Annis Ptolmy), born 9 December 1822
- children:
- i. Ida, born 21 December 1854, died 17 January 1923; married 10 February 1912 to J.T. McCormick
- ii. Etta, born 18 December 1856, died 18 February 1925; married 11 October 1906 to John Brown
- iii. Alberta, born 19 August 1861, died 7 April 1888; married Scott A. Shiplett 4 children:
