    DAVID HOPPING. He and his father's wife, Elizabeth, are mentioned in the father's will In "New York in the Revolution as Colony and State" by Roberts, on page 80 Vol 1, a David Hopping is mentioned as private in the Levies commanded by Col. Morris Graham and in a Poll list of 1776, Morris County, N.J a David Hopping is mentioned. This writer has not been able to prove that either of these references apply tp the David Hopping being discussed but see no other applies cation, (My own uncle, a resident of Morris County, NJ went to New York to enlist in the Civil War, for what reason I do not know. To this date (1951) no descendants have been found of any of the children mentioned in Matthias Hopping Jr's will
