- Dickey, David - entered service 1775 in Tryon County (area now Rutherford County), North Carolina; entered service 1779 with South Carolina regiment; born 1747 in Augusta County, Virginia; granted Pension 1832 in Rutherford County, North Carolina; resided 1834 with son L.H. or S.H., Greenville District, South Carolina; query letter in file 1924 from great grand daughter Mrs. John D. Reid, Pana, Illinois, states she was a descendant from 2nd marriage of soldier to Margaret Stephenson in 1788
, further soldier's son John born 1789, York District, South Carolina, further soldier's 1st wife thought to be Mary, further Dickey family came to Virginia in 1737 & settled at Rockfish Gap; query letter in file in 1922 from great grand-daughter Miss Eva Britain, Hanover, Indiana states soldier's 1st wife died 4 months after marriage of 3/28/1775, further soldier's married (2) 9/4/1788 to Margaret Stephenson , further soldier was son of John, who was born 1703, married Martha McNeeley , & moved from Northern Ireland to Virginia in 1737. - Note: the David Dickey that married Margaret Stephenson in 1788 was a DIFFERENT David Dickey, who was also the son of John Dickey and his wife Martha McNeeley.

Music by bluegrass legend Dan Padgett is part of the dedication activities planned
