Will of David Allen
From Chalkley's:
- Page 101.--8th September, 1779. David Allen's will--To wife, Elizabeth; to children; to wife's mother, Mary Allen; to son, Robert, infant, £5 in lieu of a horse left him by his grandfather, Robert Allen; to son, John Crooks Allen, infant; to sons, James and David, infants; to daughter, Mary, infant; to son, James Joseph Allen, infant. Executors, brothers John Allen, in Frederick County, and Thomas Allen, in Shanando. Teste: John Montgomery, James Henry, Patrick Hall, James Givens. Proved, 16th November, 1779, by James Henry and Edward Hall. Executors qualify.
- Vol. 1 - SEPTEMBER 18, 1787. - (400) James, David and Mary Allen, all over 14, orphans of David Allen, chose Robert Allen their guardian.
- Page 45.--David Allen's estate in account with Thomas and John Allen, executors--1779, paid legatees, viz: Robert, Elizabeth, and Mary Allen; receipt to John and Thos. Allen, executors, from Robert Allen, legatee and guardian to James, Mary, and David Allen.
