 I believe Christine and Frederick are listed in the 1870 census in New York City as Frederick "Frobaust" [indexed in ancestry.com as 'Frobana'], age 34, from Germany, occupation 'coal ashes' (?).  His wife 'Christinna' is 35 from Germany, and the children are 'Fredericker', female, 9; Mary, 6; Kate, 4; and John, 2. {Ward 22, district 17, p.645}  
 In the 1880 Census for Franklin [later called Nutley] Essex Co., New Jersey, 'Christiane Froboese' [also indexed as 'Christen Froboce'] is 45 Germany (parents Germany), widow, 'housekeeping'; with children Fredericka age 19 NY; Katie 16 NY; John 11 NY; Fredrick 9 NJ; Phillip 6 New Jersey; and Alice 3 NJ.  Her daughter Mary Frobose, 17, is listed as a servant in a household just a few doors above. {ed 101, sh 30l. 24} [Note: her children are also indexed as Frederica, Katiee, and Fredrith]
 There is a record for the marriage of Gottlieb Darm age 48 and Christine Frobose age 48, in the Grace Church records.  No year noted, but prior to 1887.
 In the 1900 census for Franklin, Essex Co., New Jersey, Christiane is listed next door to her daughter Frederica and husband Jacob Fitting as Christine Darm, [indexed as 'Christina Duern'] born May 1835 in Germany (Germany, Germany), emigrated in 1860, (married?), 7 of 8 children living. {Hillside Ave, Franklin [later Nutley], Essex Co., New Jersey, ED 94, sh. 12}
 In 1910, she is living at 124 Center St., Nutley, ward 3, Essex Co., in the household of Jacob Fitting, mother-in-law Christina Darm, is 74, widowed, emigrated in 1846 from Germany, 7 of 8 children living. { ED 203, sh. 2B}
 She is buried in the Vincent Methodist Church Cemetery on Park Ave. in Nutley, New Jersey.  Her death certificate, according to an email communication, gives her cause of death as 'heart disease.'
 She raised her children in the Lutheran Church.  She was known as 'Christy Ann'.
