In August 1804, "Constable [James, agent for the proprietor in the area] visited the house of Christopher Edmunds, on the north side of the creek, where he found a fine farm and the best corn produced in the town. Edmunds came into the region in 1798, with his brother Eliphalet, the latter settling in Adams."[8]
