    In 1802Robert Harris sold his plantation to Nicholas Young, and EdwardCrawford and Jane, then in Washington County, conveyed to Young thechurch lot. This land was the original George Rowland tract from RobertRowland sold to Geo. Burdwell, and then to Robert Harris. The other Row­land tract of 113 acres came to Christian Copp through Michael Kerns. Copp’s Chapel still in use became the successor of Spreading Spring for aneighborhood church.
