Acquisition of Land from Orange County, Virginia Records:
- Charles Robinson had a survey made for 400 acres in Orange County, Virginia on December 1738 by James Wood, Surveyor. This is most likely the same 400 acres that Robinson received a patent for on 22 Sept. 1739, listed below. [Orange County Virginia Deed Book 3, Dorman, pg. 15].
- Charles Robinson received a patent for 400 acres "branch of the north branch of the South River of Sharrando (Shenandoah) on 22 Sept. 1739, as shown in the disposition below.

Will of Charles Robinson
- Will of Charles Robinson, Anson County, North Carolina:
- In the name of god, Amen, on the twentieth and ninth day of December and in the year of Our Lord Christ, one thousand seven hundred and fifty four, I Charles Robinson, of Anson Co., NC, being sick and very wear of body but of perfect sence and of disposing memory, thanks be to God, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First, I most humbly recommend my soul to God that gave it, hoping by the mighty power of God and the merits of Christ to receive it again in the fullness of joy at the Resurrection of the Just.
- Second, I commit my body to the earth to be buried in Christian like manner, as my executors hereafter shall think most convenient and as for my worldly estate which it has pleased God to bless me with, I give and dispose in the manner following:
- Imprimus. In the first place I will that all my just debts be paid and satisfied for which purpose I will that all debts due to me; all horses and mares running in the woods except such as are hereafter excepted, be carefully sold and the money arising converted to that use.
- Itum. My will is that my son, Cornelius, as soon as he shall arrive at full age, that he make a title of the land already sold to Adam Redan in Virginia and that he receive the money with interest that is due to me from him, to be delivered to his mother to purchase a slave or slaves to render the remainder of her life more comfortable, and at her decease, such slaves or slave purchased, to be by her disposed of to one or more of her children as to her shall seem most convenient but to no other purpose.
- Itum. In consideration thereof I give and bequeath to my said son, Cornelius Robinson, one mare out of my stock such as he shall think proper to choose, and when he shall be of age, his mother, deliver to him two cows and calves. I likewise will and devise to my said son, Cornelius, after the decease of his mother, Sarah Robinson, that tract of land where on I now dwell, together with the plantation and buildings and all other things thereunto belonging.
- Itum. I will and devise to my two daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, that tract of three hundred acres of land by the Island tract.
- Itum. I will and devise to my two sons, namely, Townsend and Charles, and my daughter, Catherine Moorman, that tract of land known by the name of Disin’s upper tract, when obtained to be equally divided amongst them.
- Itum. I give and bequeath to my loving wife, Sarah Robinson, the full enjoyment of the plantation whereon I now dwell, during her natural life, together with the working horses and all utensils thereunto belonging, together also with my stock of cattle and hogs and sheep, all my household goods together, also after my just debts are discharged. I likewise give and bequeath to my loving wife, Sarah Robinson, the remainder of all debts and other things to me belonging, except what is disposed of, and likewise my servant, William Right, until he is free, and at the time of his freedom, he behaving himself as he ought to do in the meantime, that he receive from her, his said mistress, one young mare and the heifer that is now called his and her increase. Likewise, I will and appoint my loving wife, Sarah Robinson, my executrix of this my last will and testament, together with my two sons, namely Townsend and Charles Robinson, joint executors, and I do hereby disown all other will or wills and confirm this and no other, to be my last will and testament.

Frohock, £60, 400 acres on a branch of North River of Shanando called Fort Run.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COL. CHARLES ROBERTSON & GEN. JAMES ROBERTSON
The relationship existing, if any, between COL. CHARLES ROBERTSON of the Watuaga Settlement and GENERAL JAMES ROBERTSON, later of DAVIDSON COUNTY, Tennessee, has long been an unsolved mystery.
2. CHARLES ROBINSON (the son of the second Cornelius, grandson of the first Cornelius, and the great Grandson of CHRISTOPHER ROBINSON) lived for some years in Augusta County, Virginia, with brothers, TOWNSEND, CORNELIUS, JAMES and DAVID ROBINSON, and his sons:
