CARL MANTHEI emigrated to the United States with his family in 1891, at the age of 19. He lived on a farm near Alma Center, Wisconsin most of his life. His wife IDA KRUEGER and his brother JOHN MANTHEI's wife MATILDA KRUEGER were sisters. They had a brother, AUGUST KRUEGER, who lived in Tomahawk and Wausau, Wisconsin.
