Anna Edith Whittle

Mrs. Whittle passed away at her home Aug. 25 at the age of 62 years, 1 month, and 11 days.

Anna Whittle, daughter of Joseph and Mary Tinker, was born at Cox Creek, Iowa, on July 14, 1877. She is survived by her husband and three sons, Bernard, Clarence and Wyman, all of this vicinity. One daughter Irene preceded her in death at the early age of 9 years and 2 days. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Olinger of Chamberlain, So. Dak., Mrs. Rose Olinger of Garber, and one brother, John Tinker of Strawberry Point, as well as 7 grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, Monday, Aug. 28, at 9:30. The mass was sung by the Rev. Julius Olinger, nephew of the deceased, and a very eloquent sermon was rendered by Rev. Luke Donlon.

The pallbearers were John Tayek, F.E. Lestina, Joe Tayek, F.A. Lestina, Albert Holly, F.V. Lestina, Hugo Blietz, and Giles Blietz.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Rose Olinger, Rev. Julius Olinger of Garber; Mr. and Mrs. John Tinker, Mr. Don Tinker, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Olinger, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Olinger, Mrs. Francis Baldridge, Miss Coletta McDermit, Mrs. Francis Farmer, all of Strawberry Point; Glen Olinger, Mederville; Mrs. Will Kozelka, Frank Samek, Postville; Henry Geske and son John of McGregor; Mr. and Mrs. John Bohonek, Mrs. Rose Bohonek of Prairie du Chien; Mrs. Teresa O'Hara and son Claire Fassbinder of Shellsburg.
