Mrs. J.J.Best died Tues. July 26, 1927, she had been hospitalized for the past 10 weeks, having sustained a fractured hip in a fall at her home. Julia Eaton brought the body to Glidden and the funeral service was held today at 2 P.M. at the Lutheran Church. Mrs Best was 81 years, 9 mos.and 18 days and had been residing in the Glidden vicinity for about 60 years. Mrs. Anna Best, nee Brunen, was born Oct. 7, 1845 in East Friesen, Germany. In the year 1870 she immigrated to this country, with one of her brothers and his family. The same year on May 2, 1970 she intered into marriage with Mr. John Best at Quincy, Illinois. In which union she lived for 57 years. Seven children were born to this union, four sons and three daughters. In 1875 the family moved to Carroll County, first living in Sheridan and later Grant township. In the year of 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Best moved to Glidden. Besides her aged husband, she leaves to mourn her death, three sons, Cord, Fred and Gary. Two daughters, Tena (Mrs Jacob Janssen)and Anna (Mrs. Henry Wenck)
