On the 1900 census, it is claimed she had 5 children, all surviving. Evidently, they could not count very well!

In searching the 1910 census, I had difficulty finding Angeline. In Vermillion Twp, there is an Elvira Bradley, age 73. Could this be Angeline?

From Driver Memoirs, written by Byron Driver's family - from Joyce Bowers

... From Angeline herself we have learned bits of the history of her early life.

Captain Bradley went down with his ship during a storm on Lake Erie, leaving behind his wife and two young daughters, Mary and Angeline. She later remarried a man whose name was Rorabacher and by whom she raised a large family.

Mary and her step father were incompatible so she left home. Though he was a very quick tempered man, he and Angeline got along quite normally. One time though, while assisting him with a task, she jumped up unthinking and the piece of wood he was working on flew along with his anger. In his flash of anger, he grabbed an ax striking her back. Then realizing what he had done, consoled and told her how sorry he was.

Both the Driver and Rorabacher families had a close relationship, often visiting back and forth. I am reminded faintly of going to one where the children had a tree house near the back door. What fun we had.

Several of the families tiring of their long name had it legally shortened to Roback.

... Grandma Driver had conferred with and begged to have one grandson named after her father, Captain Bradley. She won. [The child was named Louis Bradley.]

... When our grandmother Driver became very ill with her last sickness, our mother took Roy, then the youngest child, and went to care for her, leaving we three older girls to care for our dad, four younger brothers and the home. Our grandparents home was across the fields and creek from ours. Sometimes our voices carried across, sometimes quite clear... grandma passed away after a rather lengthy illness...
