  • July 10, 1784. Andrew Henry - 580 acres on the waters of Catawba, adjoining land of William Preston.

  • Vol. 2 - Hypes vs. Henry--O. S. 22; N. S. 7--Bill filed 22d November, 1802. James Briens was half brother to Peter Hypes' wife, of Botetourt, and was bound to Andrew Henry, of Botetourt, as an apprentice. James' father had previously gone to Tennessee. The father was Rowland Bryan.

  • On April 6, 1786, Henry Wax sold the remainder of his land to Joe Hiester in Alsace Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania (Deed Book 9, Page 341, Reading Records) and moved his family to Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. On December 8, 1789 he bought 168 acres of land west of the town of Fincastle from Andrew Henry, a former owner of Miller's Mill and there in becoming the new owner. Henry bought a considerable amount of land around Fincastle and was one of the largest land owners in Botetourt County, Virginia. The hill immeadiatly west of Fincastle is still known as Wax's Hill. Henry became an Tavern/Inn Keeper when he was issued a licence to do so January 13, 1794. Henry also owned land in Greenbriar County, Virginia. Biography of Capt. Henry Wax
  • Pg. 409 - Surveyor is to lay off 10 acres for the Prison (Jail) bounds, so as to include the Church, both the springs, and the mill house of Andrew Henry. [Note: in the Town of Fincastle, from Kegley's Virginia Frontier].
  • In 1826, Benjamin Ammen purchased from his father-in-law, Thomas Cross, his mill located on the west side of the town branch [of Fincastle], midway between the extension of Main and Back streets. This land came through Benjamin Carper, Henry Wax, Andrew Henry and John Miller of Miller's Mill. ["Related Families of Botetourt County, Virginia", pg. 10].
