Special thanks to Frances Dugger Rowan, Robert G. Duggar and Robert E. Duggar for data shared on this family.

Alexander Dugger was born 4 Dec 1786 probably in Orange Co, NC, though it could also have been Brunswick Co, VA. Alexander is most likely a son of Alexander and Ann Dugger, but I don't know if that connection is proven. Circumstantially it fits very well.

Alexander Dugger apparently moved to Greene Co, TN with his parents ca 1798 or so. Unlike most of his siblings, Alexander was not listed on the 1805 tax list in Greene Co, TN.

"Alexander Duger" was listed on the 1809 Sumner Co., TN tax list. It isn't certain whether this is this Alexander or his father instead.

On 27 Apr 1810 Alexander Dugger obtained a marriage bond in Greene Co, TN to marry Catherine Bailey (listed as "Caty" Bailey on bond). Daniel Dugger was the bondsman, suggesting they were brothers.

Alexander Dugger might have been listed on the 1810 and 1820 census in Greene Co, TN, but unfortunately those census records are lost for the area.

Sometime prior to 1830, Alexander Dugger moved westward a couple of counties over to Roane Co, TN. He was listed there for the 1830 census. His brother Daniel Dugger was also listed, as was another Alexander Dugger.

They are listed on the 1850 census in Gordon Co, GA.

Alexander Dugger died before the 1860 census, for his wife Catherine was listed (in Arkansas) as an apparent widow. Alexander could have died in Georgia or in Arkansas.
