David Dugger was born 4 Dec 1786 (what is the source for this date?). He was probably born in Orange Co, NC, or possibly in Brunswick Co, VA. The same birth date is reported for his brother Alexander, so perhaps they were twins.

I don't know what proof there is of David being a son of Alexander and Ann, but he fits on several pieces of circumstantial evidence.

David Dugger came to Greene Co, TN at the same time as his supposed parents. He married there in 1804 to Catherine Bailey. Shadrack Dugger was bondsman, suggesting that they were brothers.

David Dugger was listed on the 1805 tax list in Greene Co., TN.

David and family moved briefly to Barren Co, KY and was listed there on the 1810 census.
