A. J. ADAMS ANSWERS THE FINAL SUMMONS
He Had Been in Poor Health for Months - Located in Linn County (Iowa) 51 Years Ago.
Adoniram Judson Adams was born in Washington Co., Ohio, Jan. 30 1833. He was married to Esther Anna Ward on Nov. 10, 1853 to which union eight children, four boys and four girls, were born. Two daughters died in infancy leaving four sons and two daughters to mourn his loss, the mother having died June 1, 1883.
In May, 1855, he with his family moved to Linn county, Ia., where he made his home until his death, Nov. 25, 1906.
He united with the Church of Christ in 1860 and has since lived a consistent christian life. In second marriage he took to wife Mrs. Fannie Hemphill on Sept 6, 1886 having died Dec 16. 1900. Since then he has made his home with his daughter; Mrs. J. L. Joyce of near this place, but frequently visited his other children who are:

The funeral servicez (sic) were held at Lafayette Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. B. F. Shoemaker, and were largely attended. Internment was made in the Lafayette cemetery.
Mr. Adams was one of the real pioneers of this section, having been a resident of Linn county for upwards of 51 years. He was a man of sterling worth and character upright in all his dealings with his fellow me, and closes a career .. .
