[edit] Notes for Abraham Clementshttp://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/c/i/Rick-Mcintire/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-1982.html The Augusta County (Va) Order Book reports that Abraham Clements Nov 21-1747 was "idle and vagrant" and Apr 8-1748 a charge by Joseph Walker that Abraham was about to remove without settling a debt. In Aug 1748 Abraham is back in Hunterdon Co (Common Pleas Court V, 219a). On Oct 18-1753 he was not living in Va (see below). Abraham is listed in court records 1748 to 1765, generally involving money. He was a debtor at Trenton (Pa Gazette, Aug 22-1765), In 1765 he sued his father, Ezekiel, and in turn was sued by his father and brother, Jeremiah. They all left in the fall of 1765, likely for Va. Ezekiel is listed fo r debts 1726-1740, he is in Hopewell records 1730-1740; in 1741 a freeholder. In Rockbridge County the 1763 estate settlement of James Greenlee, a former neighbor, lists a bad note of Ezekiel's. Sometime before 1765 Jeremiah, son of Ezekiel?, married Elizabeth Moore in Trenton, N J. |
