John Price of Shenandoah County [20 May 2022]

Hello, I received your message on my Talk Page regarding John Price Sr. of Shenandoah County, Virginia. Not sure how you want to proceed, if there is any info/records you'd like to add to this family, feel free to add. I do not descend from this family, but have been done some research as you can see..

I'm assuming that this is the Anjer Price you are researching: Anjer Price. I do see several Ancestry Trees claiming that he was the son of a John Sawyer Price, born in 1740, married in 1755, which would have been highly unlikely in Colonial Virginia, which is probably what you were referring to in your message...

Also, here's a different John L. Price that appears to be messed up on many internet trees, likely one of the ones you were talking about.

Thanks and best regards,

Jim:)--Delijim 23:51, 13 May 2022 (UTC)

I am somewhat confused regarding using this site so will need to review the instructions. Yes, I was trying to make the point that much of the information currently posted in family trees for men named John Price in colonial Virginia is not accurate. I have original documents to share but need to determine how. I currently have documents attached to Price families in wikitree, geni and familysearch. It seems misinformation goes viral faster than I can keep up. Will try to get up to speed. Thank you. Dee--Stone.dm 00:20, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

You are correct about the mis-information out there on the Price families. I have messaged several Ancestry members to pull down their trees that are posted that contain flawed information, but you are correct, it's tough to deal with incorrect info. Best regards, Jim:)
