Researching family history since 1978. My USA colonial families include Williams, Price, Barrett, Keesing (Kisling), Kimes and Reece.
By far the most challenging has been the Price family of Virginia. My earliest proven ancestor is John Price Sr. of Shenandoah County, Virginia born about 1720-1725. Unfortunately, several men in colonial Virginia were named John Price. This has resulted in a number of families being confused and/or combined by researchers copying misinformation. I have original records for several of these John Price families and will share any information for men named John Price that I have. Male Price cousins have YDNA results on familytreedna. The Price YDNA haplogroup for our ancestral line is I-M253. Most of the other Price families are in haplogroup R-M269.
My maternal ancestors are all from Finland which has excellent records including birth, paternal and farm names. I find my heritage to be the best for this research.
