A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Broxash Hundred from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "BROXASH, a hundred in Hereford. It extends south-south-westward, from the north-eastern boundary to Lugwardine; and contains Bromyard parish, and twenty-seven other parishes, and parts of two others. Acres: 58,995. Population: 11,878. Houses: 2,433."
