- February 1779 - Valentine Shirley was conveyed land by his parents-in-law Jacob Bear and his wife Ann, "part of 250 acres patented to James Thompson and conveyed to Samuel Henderson and by him to John, his son, mouth of Little Is Run", as listed in the Chalkley's records below.
