From Chalkley's:

  • Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond: 1789 - March 13, Thomas Crow, Jr.*, and Nancy Donally, daughter [of] Charles Donally (consent), Mary Donally (consent); witnesses, Jno. Wayt, Stephen Smith; surety, Alexander Lewis. [Note: Thomas Crow is listed as "Thomas Crow, Jr." in this record, which may confuse some researchers into believing that his father was also named Thomas, but during the colonial times, the title "Jr." was also used to differentiate two people with the same name of different ages. In this case, the other Thomas Crow was this Thomas Crow's uncle, and not his father].
