Not much is know about Stephen Jr. According to the Webster Genealogy, he married Adaline Cody/Cady of Grafton, MI, probably a dau of John Cody. They settled at Flat Rock, Wayne Co.MI after some period of time & had 2 sons: Stephen Jr & Norton.
I can not find Stephen in any census to prove any of this.
The Land Records (Book CC) from Ash Township in Monroe Co.,MI show that on 10 Feb 1838 Stephen Webster purchased 80 acres from Daniel Baker for $300. He purchased the NE quarter of the SW quarter of Section 22 in township #5 south of Range #7 East containing 40 acres. Also the NW quarter of the SW quarter of Section #22 in Township #5 South of Range #7 East containing 40 acres. Later he sold to James McBride. Is this the right Stephen??
Poss the 12yr old Stephen Webster enumerated in 1850 in Murray, NY living with Warren & Catherine Webster, is son of Stephen?? But I never found him again??
1820 & 1830 Census show him with the family. In 1840, he is 30 & with his mother, Ruth, widow, in Clarendon ....at least there is a 30yr old in the numbers. Norton is there too. There is also a 15-20yr old female?? no small chldrn. I cannot find Stephen in 1850??
