1995:Sources: Xerox copy of Bible of Mary & Wm Wright Jr,Marriage Book A Clarke Co Ga 1804 to 1821 compiled by Mary B Warren, Heritage Papers page 35; Some Georgia County Records vol 2 compiled by Rev. Silas E Lucas Jr, Southern Historical Press page 8; Xerox copy of research sheet obtained from James Wm branch & their printout. Sarah is listed as the 9th child in the Bible record; there are 12 in that list plus Martha on the research sheet. Sarah was apparently 19 when she married Thomas B who was 46 & he had been in the country approximately 14 years. Methodism was the Pentecostal religion of that era but her father apparently found no conflict in owning slaves whom he willed to some of his children upon his death in 1821 at the of 64; from this we may surmise that he was fairly well off but his bequests of 1.00 to his married daughters might imply that he did not spend freely. We assume that Sarah & Thomas raised their children in Clarke Co but it is not certain. In 1834 Thomas died leaving her at age 41 with 9 children, James aged 20, Rufus aged 19, Wm Thomas aged 18 & Sarah Jane aged 7; we do not know the ages of the other 5. We do not know when or where Sarah died except that it was after Thomas as she is listed in his probate records.
