Making reference to his business, Richard's obituary described him as follows:
“Dick Norbey's” used to be the place to go when it was fashionable for a number of people to go some place to sit down and have a few glasses of beer together in a respectable place. “Dick” was a general favorite, always jolly and good natured. He leaves few if any who will say an unkind word of him.[5]
