Ancestry.com is a general genealogy research portal, providing access to research guides, online databases (both free and subscription) and message boards. Ancestry.com is a member site of The Generations Network, which describes Ancestry.com as "the #1 online source for family history information, including the web's largest collection of historical records".[1] Ancestry.com databases include original records (e.g. census films, newspapers), vital records collections (typically scans of published collections), published family histories, genealogical surveys (e.g., Savage, Torrey, Great Migration), and user-submitted information on family trees and message boards. Each previously published source does or should have its own Source page on WeRelate. Exceptions include user-submitted tree collections (the World Tree (mirror of WorldConnect) and OneWorldTree each have their own general source; individual trees should be cited using citation detail) and message boards, which should be citing using citation detail only.
