From Robert Tevis (Tivis), His Parents, His Siblings, and His Progeny by Nancy Pearrer Lesure

The youngest daughter of Robert and Margaret Tevis was married 30 May 1789 to James Crow by Pastor Richards of the First Baptist Church of Baltimore. She was his third wife. In 1796 Rachel Crow was willed a negro girl by her father, the only daughter singled out for anything other than a shilling.

Her husband died before 1798, leaving heirs, but ther were apparently no children from his marriage to Rachel. Her loss has been our gain, because her will, written 1 June 1807 and proved 5 Feb 1808, has been of tremendous help to researchers trying to sort out relationships. From it we know her brother Peter had a daughter Margaret, not mentioned in Peter's will, and that Naomi Brown and Ham(m)utal Lindsay were indeed her sisters.
