Polly and Theron are not buried in the East Otto Cemetery with their son and other members of Theron's family. She was living in "town" in 1879, according to the history published by Everts.

Their son, William C. participated in the Civil War. In September 1864 he joined up with the 154th Infantry, Co. B and was discharged July, 1865, age 19.

Another son, Luman Alonzo Perkins, married a girl named Carrie Belle Lincoln. She was a descendant of of the same family as the president Abraham Lincoln.

Polly... remembers very interesting and exciting events which took place in the South woods [Otto], as the locality was called in her girlhood days. Wild beasts were abundant, and it was often a question which owned the sheep, the wolves or the settlers.
