In 1850, he was a carpenter; 1860, a farmer; 1870, a laborer; and in 1880, a farmer. 1870 they are living near Strouses. In 1866, he was administrator for John Ritter's probate In 1891, granddaughter Carrie (Freeman's daughter), at age 10, went from Michigan to Ohio to live with them. She helped to care for his wife when she became ill and until she died in 1896. When she left to return to Michigan, he gave her a watch, engraved with her initials. His son, Frank, went to live on the farm after there was an auction. Obituary CORNERSBURG - May 3 - Peter Corll, a highly respected pioneer citizen, died at his residence last Friday of infirmities attendant upon old age. He was born in Austintown township August 22, 1817, consequently aged 87 years. He was married to Miss Sarah Rupright in 1889 (error). Seven children were born to them, five boys and two girls; William of Riverside, Cal., Henry of Ellwell, Mich., Freeman of Fruitport, Mich., Frank and Levi of Cornersburg, Mrs. Peter Moyer of Champion, and Mrs. Mary A. Wehr who died several years ago. Mr. Corll was a member of Zion Reformed church and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Monday, first at the home and later at Zion church with interment in Zion cemetery, Rev. Schaaf of Canfield officiating.
