Obituary
 F. Corll Drowns -- Corll Falls in Well, Dies -- Lifeless Body of Sheriff-Elect's Uncle Found at Bottom of Pit - Well 40 Feet Deep- Deputy Sheriff and Firemen Recover Body -- Hat Gave Clue to Death - Frank Corll, aged 78, widely known farmer of Cornersburg, Uncle of Sheriff-Elect Peter J. Corll, missing from the home of his son, C.C. Corll, Cornersburg-Canfield Rd., since eight a.m. Sunday, was found dead at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the bottom of a 40-foot well near a cider press on his son's farm.

After hours of searching Sunday, Deputy Sheriff Joseph Conway and Corll's sons found a hat near an old well, which gave rise to the theory the aged man might accidentally have fallen into the well.

Deputy Conway and Fireman Joseph Kinnie and Dan Dyce investigated and found the lifeless body of Corll at the bottom of the pit.

His watch had stopped at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, shortly after he had first been missing. He was last seen at the home of another son, E.W. Corll, Cornersburg.

When he did not appear at the Lutheran Church Sunday, an alarm was given and search instituted under directions of Deputy Conway.

The family believes Mr. Corll had been filling the radiator in a car when a board broke, throwing him into the well.

Since the death of his wife, 14 years ago, Corll had been living with his son, C.C. Corll.

Corll was a son of Peter Corll, one of the pioneer settlers of Mahoning County. He leaves four children: C.C. Corll, D.W., Mrs. James Smith, all of Cornersburg, and Mrs. W.T. Creed of Hubbard. The body was removed to Davidson & Bennett's morgue.

Frank Corll was born Nov. 30, 1848, in Cornersburg, the son of Peter and Mary Alice (Rupright) Corll. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Cornersburg his entire life. Mr. Corll was married in 1871 to Mary M. Lynn. She died March 17, 1912. He was a member of the Reformed Church at Canfield and was widely known throughout the county.

Besides his children he leaves five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cornersburg Lutheran Church. Rev. J.W. Kratz will officiate. Interment will be in Canfield Mausoleum.

The body will be take to the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Smith, on the Austintonw-Canfield Rd., Tuesday morning. Friends may call from two p.m. to nine p.m. Tuesday.
