Mary Pangborn, daughter of William and Mary (Conkling) Pangborn was born on 4 September 1787, probably in New Jersey. She married Morris Ross on 22 July 1807 at the Westfield First Presbyterian Church in Westfield, New Jersey. Morris Ross, son of George and Elizabeth Ross was born on 15 January 1784. He was probably born in the Rahway Ward of Elizabeth, New Jersey. He worked as a blacksmith and carriage maker. The family moved from New Jersey to Yates County, New York in 1821. In 1838 they moved to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and finally to Pardeeville (Columbia County), Wisconsin where Mary died on 2 September 1862 and Morris died on 14 December 1865.
