Brittain Ross, Jr., son of Morris and Mary (Pangborn) Ross was born on 10 June 1814 in New Jersey. He married Amanda Stork on 11 October 1837 in Yates County, New York. Amanda was born on 1 February 1814 in Burlington (Otsego County), New York. Brittain was a farmer and by 1845 the family was living in Geneva Township, Wisconsin. Brittain died on 1 June 1873 at Scott (Columbia County), Wisconsin. His wife Amanda died on 23 September 1908 at Grand Island, Nebraska.
