George Ross, son of Morris and Mary (Pangborn) Ross was born on 11 May 1825 at Penn Yan, New York. On 2 June 1847 he married Clarinda Gray. The family lived at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where George was a farmer. In 1877 they moved to Elkhorn, Wisconsin. George died there on 22 April 1898. Clarinda was born on 3 February 1828 at Ogdensburg, New York. and died on 28 September 1910 in Geneva Township (Walworth County), Wisconsin. She is buried at Geneva Cemetery in Lake Geneva
