Julia Lambard was baptised on 20th July 1834 at Sidlesham in Sussex, daughter of and agricultural labourer named Edmund Lambard and his wife Maria. The 1841 and 1851 censuses both find Julia living with her parents and siblings at Sidlesham.
On 18th October 1858, aged 24, Julia married a fisherman named Thomas Grant, who was 20 years old. Between 1859 and 1876 they had eight children (one boy and seven girls) baptised at Sidlesham. In every census from 1861 to 1891 Julia was living at Sidlesham with her husband Thomas and their children, with Julia's occupation being given as charwoman in 1871.
Julia died in 1897, aged 62. Thomas outlived her by about 20 years.
