The family (parents and siblings) of John Price (Jr) were residents of the area of Virginia known as the Marksville Magisterial District from before 1749 until after the Revolutionary War. This fact is documented in the Revolutionary War pension application of John's brother Thomas Price and the Revolutionary War Pension application of his brother Sampson Price. Their relationship with each other and with other residents of this area can be found in several deed records of the Northern Neck abstracted by Peggy Shomo Joyner and Shenandoah County Deeds. Many of these records are posted in familysearch.org memories section for the pertinent family member. During the period of Indian attacks (about 1758 to 1764), the family removed to Culpeper County for their safety. The first property owned by John Price (Sr) father of John Price (Jr) was 440 acres in the Hawksbill area adjacent to Mungo or Mungas Price, the uncle of John Price (Jr). This land was assigned to Lewis Pence in 1749.

Upon returning from Culpeper County, the family settled on 290 acres of land purchased by John Price (Sr) from Lawrence Gore (Lorance Gar). This land was on the west side of the South Shenandoah River across from the town of Alma, Virginia. It was willed in three parts by John Price (Sr) to his sons Edward Price, John Price (Jr) and Thomas Price. SEE WILL probated 1784 IN MEMORIES at familysearch.org. John Price (Jr) resided on this property until his death some time prior to 17 May 1800. This is shown in tax records of Shenandoah County. I extracted the information from 1783 to 1817.

Brothers Edward and Thomas resided on the land until 1787 when brother Edward dies and Thomas relocates elsewhere.

After the decease of John and his wife Sarah, other land owned by John Price Jr. is inherited by eight children identified in a Shenandoah Deed Record Book X page 312 recorded 7 March 1817. These are the children recorded in family search minus one child John (III) who apparently died young. The birth two children of John Price and his wife Sarah are found in the birth and baptism records of Dunmore County renamed Shenandoah County in 1778. Copies of the birth information at familysearch.org. Source was A History of Shenandoah County Virginia by John W. Wayland found online.

  4.   https://www.genealogy.com/ftm/s/t/o/Darlene-M-Stone/GENE2-0002.html The information regarding Stephen Price in Genealogy.com is outdated and misleading. Records of Shenandoah County, particulary the tax lists appears to show Stephen as the oldest child of John Price Jr. and wife Sarah. The genealogy of William Good Shadowed by the Massanutten Stephen Price Sr., husband of 1) Patty Ward and 2) Dicy Jenkins was the father of Stephen Price Jr. Stephen Price Jr. was born 1813 and
married Margaret E. Huffman 1 January 1834. Jack Barron was a long time correspondent of mine (before 2000) along with several other Price descendants. Estimate of birth dates for siblings needs to be updated using original source records.
