There is also mentioned a Capt. Nathaniel Falkner who married about 1754 , also at Old Swede's Church, Delaware, to Sarah Moulder of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania (between Chester, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware along the Delaware River.) He may well have been another brother. Nathaniel is buried at Friends Cemetery in Philadelphia, aged 77, died 7 Nov ?? (probably 1803 to 1805).

10-11-1760 Jesse Falkner and wife and children (unnamed) were received on certificate to Warrington from Exeter M.M. the Exeter Certificate, dated ? 6 mo, 1760 reads "Crt Warrington MM - Jesse Faulkner, his wife and children - that we fear his wife has been so unguarded as to drink spirituous liquors to some degree in excess though not to have deserved public censure we thought a private hint to you incumbent. Jesse Faulkner (Current as of 16 April 1992)

In The scripture, the name Jesse may mean "gift." the name is mentioned in Ruth 4.17 in which Jesse is shown as the father of David.

The "Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey," published by the Genealogical Society of New Jersey, on page 71 in Volume 19, 1944, shows a marriage license issued on 25 August 1741 to Jess Falkner, Northampton, Burlington County, carter, and Isabell Jones, spinster, daughter of John Jones of "Chester in the County in Penns'a," yeoman.

Jesse Faulkner and Martha Smith were married at the Holy Trinity (Old Swedes) Church in Wilmington, Delaware in 1744. Old Swedes was consecrated in 1699 and was a Swedish Lutheran church until 1791 when it changed to the Episcopal jurisdiction.

It would appear that sometime after their marriage in 1744 and before 1759, Jesse and Martha must have joined the Friends and probably were members of the Sadsbury Monthly Meeting. (See below.)

By an Indenture dated 28 December 1754 and recorded 22 October 1755 in Deed Book D, pages 324-327, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Jesse and Martha sell 150 acres 9 perches to Samuel Lefevre for five hundred eighty five pounds. This parcel was part of the original 2000 acres.

On 26 June 1760, Jesse, his wife, and children receive permission from the Exeter Monthly Meeting of Friends to transfer to the Warrington Monthly Meeting.

In the request made by the Exeter Monthly Meeting, mention is made about his wife who has "...been so unguarded as to ....(drink) liquor to some degree of excess..."

On 28 August 1760, the Exeter Monthly Meeting recorded the above Certificate.

This is borne out by the fact that he is in Virginia.

On 15 August 1776 at the Hopewell Monthly Meeting, Jesse was a witness to the marriage of Jacob Smith and Patience Ballinger.

On 3 March 1778 at the Middle Creek Meeting in Arden, Berkeley County, Virginia (later West Virginia), Jesse was a witness to the marriage of his son David and Judith Thornbrugh.

On 12 November 1789 at the Hopewell Meeting, Jesse is a witness at the marriage of Joseph Morgan and Martha Griffith.

Jesse may have died between 12 November 1789 and 13 November 1794 as he does not appear as a witness to any of the Friends marriages at Hopewell Monthly Meeting. His wife Martha does appear as a witness on 11 November 1794 at the marriage of Joshua Hunt and Rachel Ross. Jesse is not there nor is he at any subsequent marriage.
