    Jane Walker (daughter of Francis Walker and Rebecca Laird) was born January 18, 1786 in Near Londonderry, Donegal, Ireland, and died June 16, 1873 in Marshall Place, Buckingham, Virginia.She married (1) Charles Moseley on December 08, 1808 in Virginia.She married (2) Spotsford Lewis Moseley on 1844.

    Jane Walker lived a long life surviving two husbands and all her siblings except for her half brother, Joseph Walker.With her second husband, Spotsford Lewis Moseley, she moved to Perry County, Alabama.Following the Civil War she moved back to Virginia living with her son, Dr. Charles Moseley, in Buckingham County.
    Vol. l, "Buckingham Burials" lists Jane as buried in the Moseley Family Cemetery on Hwy. 743 at Marshall Place.However, her granddaughter, Alice Walker Moseley ,wrote in a letter to her cousin, William Brand, dated 7-16-1873 the following account of Jane Walker's death and burial.
    "I am sorry to inform you of the death of our dear grandmother.She died exactly one month ago today...she gently fell asleep.The day before she died she said 'the Savior has been a support to me in many trials, and he is now my staff.She gave every evidence of being a truly pious Christian, and remained faithful to the end.God grant that all of us may live to be as useful and good as she was.She had a remarkable mind and remained sensible to the last.We buried her at her old home in the upper end of the county."
