Andrew Walker (son of Francis Walker and Rebecca Laird) was born June 21, 1784 in Ireland, and died January 06, 1852 in Uniontown, Perry County, Alabama.He married Nancy James.
Andrew Walker left Virginia in 1806 at age 22.He reappears in Green County, Alabama in 1832 and lived near Uniontown, Alabama for the last twenty years of his life.Although born to a staunch Presbyterian father, Andrew converted to the Methodist faith in 1826.His tombstone at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown reads as follows:
"Here Rest the Remains of Andrew Walker who was born in Ireland June 20, 1781 (the year is wrong according to at least two family Bibles) and died in this country January 6,1852.During the last 26 years of his life he was a constant member of the M.E. Church serving much of that time in the relations of steward and class leader.Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."
